The Mind of Sport - Hypnosis for Athletes
All athletes know the importance of mind practice. Golfers may know this best. As Tiger Woods said, "I see every shot before I hit the ball." Jack Nicklaus said, "Golf is a game of inches and the most important 7 are between your ears."
Mike Tyson was once the victim of a hypnotized opponent when Kevin McBride beat Mike with intense focus and confidence. And Nigel Benn, WBC Super Middleweight Champion and Frank Bruno, WBC Heavyweight Champion both used sports hypnosis for boxing.
I have had the opportunity to work with professional football players, golfers, high school athletes, college swimmers, basketball players, soccer and baseball stars, skiers, gymnasts and weekend warriors in all types of sports to improve their game. Sports and hypnosis / mind techniques go hand in hand and the most successful athletes practice the mind of sport routinely.
Tests with Olympic athletes proved that whether an athlete imagined their event or actually physically performed the event, the same muscles fired off in the same sequence. Once you have practiced over and over in you mind with hypnosis, when the time comes to perform athletically, it's second nature and automatic.
Imagine an athlete in a slump. The only difference between the times he or she performs at their best or is in a slump is their thoughts. If you're mind isn't right, your game is sure to suffer. But once you have your mind set and practice self hypnosis to maintain a strong, focused and confidence sports mind, you are sure to perform with confidence and full potential.
