Letting Go of the Past
Important! You'll be excited to know that focusing on the past is hurting you! Excited to know this? Yes, because in order to release yourself from the past you must be aware of this simple fact. Our subconscious mind focuses on whatever we send it. And, whatever we focus on, we get more of. Imagine focusing on a beautiful sunset and a field of grass and wild flowers, warm sunshine and being peacefully alone. When you focus on what creates good feelings, you get more good feelings. But… when we focus on the pain associated to our past, we're getting more of what we don't want. You will get more of those "good feelings" by the time you finish reading this.
Give me your attention for just a moment please. Right now, where are you? Not in your chair, in a room, but in time, where are you? That's right. You are in the present. Now, take a moment and try to go to the past... go ahead, I'll wait. Unless you're a time traveler, you can't. But that's what most of us do in our thoughts, we live in the past. It serves no purpose and it's time to stop.
