when you combine the mind and body to work together. It was Hippocrates himself that said "You must treat the mind and the body together, they are not separate." Maybe not an exact quote but he has been documented for this way of thinking, which is actually almost insane to think any other way. How can you possibly separate our mind and body when our thoughts have a direct affect on brain chemistry and all physiological function? The big problem that creates the issue here is the word hypnosis. When people use "mind techniques", positive thought, guided imagery and whatever else you want to call it, it is hypnosis. When the "h" word is applied people get freaked out because they just don't know the facts and truth. Hypnosis self healing techniques have gone on since man could think and imagine. It was in 1843 in a book Neurypnology: The Rationale of Nervous Sleep by Dr. James Braid the words hypnosis, hypnotist and hypnotism were coined. It appeared people in deep hypnosis were asleep, which they are not, and the Greek God of sleep is Hypnos, Thus the terms. The process itself is natural therefore was not created, just used with intent. Hypnosis self healing stories go back through all cultures, religions and the span of time. We have heard how laughter is the best medicine. It's true that laughter helps for when we are in a positive emotional state the body increases its ability to heal. So if you use hypnosis self healing thoughts and imagine your body healing, your blood pressure perfect, the flow of blood and cells and all parts of the body at optimal performance it's been proven you have increased results. The tests and research have been done and the proof is there. We are not talking about theory any more. The issue is people who are not open to believe the facts because of their ignorance, ego or need to hold on to their belief based in profit as well. Regardless of what Western medicine preaches it's your responsibility to do what's best for you. That would mean hypnosis self healing whenever possible for a safe and natural healing process. And keep in mind it's not always a matter of one approach or another but using what works in concert with each other. And be smart and use preventive measure like self hypnosis stress reduction practice. This will help prevent oncoming problems emotionally and physically.
