What I find to be common having worked with thousands of people is those thinking thoughts keep coming in. This is remaining in that upper level of mind and not allowing self to drift into the hypnotic state. When they use mind techniques, self hypnosis, they focus on the game and nothing else. By doing this those thinking thoughts of things like "what do I have to do later" or" I wonder what time it is and how much longer we have to be here" fade away because your focus has changed. To use hypnosis relax your conscious analytical thinking mind by changing your focus. It may slip a bit but simply bring it back to your goal and focus on it. This is the key. When people start having those thinking thoughts that come in they give up their ability to interact and allow the thoughts to continue or let those thoughts become their focus and then give up and say, "I just can't do this." People give up too easily and want everything to be simple and without any effort, or so it seems. When you use hypnosis relax your mind and your body will follow and the more you do it, like anything else in life, the easier it gets. You begin to create a new behavior habit. Pretty soon you will find you can simply take a few deep breaths, close your eyes and get into that deeper, relaxed state and enjoy it. It's not a matter of force or control and when frustration sets in you may as well take a break and start again later. Though it is a simple process negativity and force are not a part of it.
