The words subconscious and unconscious refer to the same part of the mind
- What is the best time of day to listen?
It is more beneficial to listen early and/or later in the day. However, do not listen while lying in bed for you may fall to sleep nor listen when too tired in order to prevent falling asleep.
- I think I'm falling asleep. Will it still work?
Actually, if you hear "# 3, eyes open" at the end of the CD or tape, you did not fall asleep. You simply drifted off consciously and you received all the suggestions subconsciously.
- I fell asleep, I didn't hear the ending. Will it still work?
Once you enter deep unconscious sleep, below the level of dreaming, your unconscious/subconscious mind has other tasks. Listen when not as tired or sit up in a comfortable chair with head supported. If you continue to enter deep sleep, you can fast forward the audio system anywhere up to when the 10 to 1 countdown begins. It may be you do not require as much of the relaxation process in the beginning.
- When should I close my eyes?
Some of our audio systems do not direct you to close your eyes. Allow them to close early while listening or as they feel they want to close if you are not directed to do so.
- Is "thunk" a word?
As far as we know, it is not an acceptable word in the English language, however, as you may have noticed, once you had thoughts around that word, you didn't hear what else was being said. There are many people who are analytical and 'pay attention' as they listen. We want to avoid this, let your conscious mind wander. Therefore, 'thunk' as well as what sounds like an interrupted word "fee….." ….. pause….. "feel" is intentional as a confusion technique.
- I don't hear what you say sometimes. Is that okay?
This is what you want to have happen. It is most advantageous to have your conscious mind wander so the suggestions are freely entering the subconscious.
- Should I be losing weight by now?
This is the big misconception regarding hypnosis in a weight loss program. First, understand what our system does is change the way you think about food and your eating behaviors as well as changing the way you emotionally approach food as a substance for comfort. This in turn leads to losing weight. Second, we are talking about fat loss. We want to gain lean muscle weight and lose flabby fat weight. Think of it in terms of fat loss. Let your clothes be your gauge, NOT the scale.
- When will I notice changes?
Because the changes are unconscious, as with many of our office clients, people sometimes are not consciously aware of the changes they are making. The shifts in behavior simply aren't registering consciously (awareness) and are so comfortable, something you are not familiar with, that they go unnoticed. You must reflect back upon the passing days and weeks and ask yourself if you would have eaten the same way, types and amounts of food as you are now. Also, keep in mind the positive emotional changes you are experiencing.
- I hear a voice in the background. Is that supposed to be there?
Yes, that vocal track is subliminal. This ensures maximum benefits for change in behavior.
