There are a variety of ways to learn hypnosis, how to be a hypnotist / hypnotherapist, and become certified and enter the profession. The only real and valid way in my opinion and the opinion of other top professionals is in a quality certified live training course.
I belong to the National Guild of Hypnotists as a Board Certified Hypnotist and Certified Instructor as well as a Certified Instructor Coach. I have seen many programs and ways people go about learning hypnosis and cannot imagine doing a home study course or distance learning course unless you have already had hands on live training. This is the most essential part of the training… to be hypnotized and to hypnotize other people. Imagine your mechanic learned from a book and DVDs and then repaired your car before ever working on one. That’s just not the way I’d feel comfortable driving around.
