I just returned from presenting at the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) Solid Gold Weekend, at the Tuscany Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It’s more of a conference than a convention. The real NGH convention is held in August in Marlborough, MA. But… the Solid Gold weekend was full of helpful information for NGH members to improve upon their skills and build their hypnosis buisness.
It’s always a pleasure to be with old friends and meet new people as well as sharing information to help others while gathering information from other successful people in our profession. We all learn from each other and that’s what is best about the Solid Gold weekend. I watched the other presenters, Jerry Kein, Marx Howell, Fiona Biddle, Edith Fiore, Seth-Deborah Roth, John Weir, Don Mottin & Shaun Brookhouse share what they brought to the stage and enjoyed the diversity the professon of hypnotism offers, as demonstrated by all the presenters.
The bottom line and the key point all attendees shoud have left with, a message I was sure to draw attention to, is that there is no one way or ultimate best way to do what we do. Yes, there are indeed inferior techniques and approaches available to guide a client to positive change, however amongst all the proven successful techniques it’s not a matter of using just one but having as much at your ready as possible.
Next it’s off to Toronto for a weekend to teach Advanced Techniques for Practicing Hypnotists at Georgina Cannon’s Hypnosis Centre. I’ll share more about that in an upcoming post.
